Wonderful zoom meetings of our NHMRC program grant over the last 3 days. Great science and discussion. So fortunate to have the insights of Prof Ranjeny Thomas. Pity we couldn't meet in person but...one day. Jane Batten amazing at keeping us organised.

Super proud of Jen, Hyon-Xhi and Amy on the announcement of their NHMRC Investigator awards. Richly deserved in a crazy crazy tough system. Allows them to dream even bigger. Will be exciting to watch over the next 5 years. Congrats Jennifer Juno Hyon-Xhi Amy Chung

Nervous about the ability of new vaccines to combat COVID variants. Our immune systems can recognise the old strains better than the new ones, called "immune imprinting". Discussion piece out in Trends in Immunology. doi.org/10.1016/j.it.2… Adam Wheatley Jennifer Juno Hyon-Xhi

More brilliant work from David Khoury and team. Elegantly reconciles protective immunity by Nab from multiple angles. Correlates of protection, thresholds of protection, and immunobridging in SARS-CoV-2 infection medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

Our latest preprint shows that neutralising antibodies predict protection from severe COVID-19. Great collaborating with Stephen Kent Megan Steain on this important work from the Kirby Institute, UNSW medrxiv.org/content/10.110…

Great work team! Yes, keep getting your vaccines people. Although the difference between WT and variant boosters is pretty subtle in some healthy subjects, the variant booster will help some vulnerable groups stay out of hospital.
