1/13 CSIR-IHBT, Palampur organized 7th Student Seminar Series-2023 on the occasion of Teachers Day (5th September 2023). The theme for this year seminar series was ‘Research, Revenue, Revolution- Scientific Innovation in Himalayan Bioresource’.

2/13 The Chief Guest for this event was Prof. Rajendra Singh Sangwan, former Director and Vice Chancellor, AcSIR; former Chief Executive Officer, DBT-Centre for Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing, Mohali.

3/13 In his address he said, in today’s time acquiring knowledge is not enough, the need of the hour is to do something new to utilize that knowledge. This requires team spirit, positive thinking and facing challenges.

12/13 Whereas three MoU’s were signed with different entrepreneurs on transfer of material and use of research facilities of the institute.

13/13 Largerstroemia Indica sapling plantation was also done by the Chief Guest Prof. Rajendra Singh Sangwan in the presence of Director, CSIR-IHBT and the scientists of the institute on this occasion.

It is good development for addressing issue of productivity fall in wheat due to terminal temperature rise but big time gap between prospection and practicality on crop field is a continuing concern.
