Out with the old, in with the new. We recently replaced our aging motorcycle with this new Harley-Davidson. As the weather improves, this bike will be deployed for traffic-related duties around #portmoody.

We were called to a stabbing involving youth parties yesterday around 6pm near the 3000 blk of Murray St. The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was located nearby & arrested. Anyone with info is asked to contact us at 604-461-3456 [file 25-1710].

This week is #nationalvolunteerweek and we recognize the many volunteers who contribute thousands of hours to public safety in #portmoody every year - including our Reserve Constables, Crime Prevention Volunteers & Victim Services Volunteers.

We responded to a crash involving a motorcycle & passenger vehicle on Barnet Hwy near Ioco Road around 5 p.m. this evening. Eastbound traffic remains closed at this time and we suggest drivers avoid the area if at all possible.

We continue to remove many vehicles from our roads this week. Today we nabbed 2 excessive speeders in the Heritage Woods area, including this one travelling 104 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Of note, his radar detector didn’t seem to help all that much. Please slow down #portmoody!

We have received dozens of bear calls over the past month. Many of which have involved the public getting too close to the wild animals as well as attractants not properly secured. Bear encounters can be reported to BC CO Service or to us (if there is an imminent public safety risk).

This morning, alert #portmoody residents reported that multiple ducklings had fallen into a storm drain. A Port Moody Police frontline officer, City of Port Moody staff members & neighbours teamed up to rescue the 8 ducklings who were all reunited with their mother! #NoCallTooSmall
