#DYK that the first confirmed sighting of Northern Mockingbird in Canada was from Point Pelee? They are known to sing all day…and all night long, mimicking other bird songs. natureinstruct.org/dendroica/spec…

King Rails are one of the most elusive birds in Point Pelee’s marsh. Most active after dusk, they are more often heard than seen. natureinstruct.org/dendroica/spec…

As the Festival comes to a close, we’d like to thank everyone who came out and made it such a great success. And remember, even though the Festival has ended, bird migration will continue for a couple more weeks this spring.

Pelee is home to thicket which makes a great habitat for species like the Yellow Breasted Chat! Chats build their nests in native shrubs such as Roughleaf Dogwood and Staghorn Sumac.

This driftwood may not look like much, but it serves as important habitat for many creatures, such as small reptiles and amphibians, and small mammals! If you come across driftwood during your visit to the park, please leave it as you found it.
