And this is why rollups are going to be devastating, not liberating, at scale. Small profitable businesses pay their owners well and build cells of resilience. Small profitable rolled up businesses take that money and centralize it.

A key reason the EU ecosystem is never going to match Silicon Valley is the lack of social overlap and resulting implicit trust. Large European funds just can't hold still when they have the chance to screw over early investors. This doesn't work in SF.
