🍰We welcomed parents into school for our termly Coffee Morning. 🥮Guests enjoyed delicious biscuits and cakes baked and served by our talented Year 11 Catering pupils. 🩷It was a wonderful opportunity for parents to chat with our Senior Leadership & Pastoral teams.

🎭Our Year 10 Drama pupils had a fantastic afternoon at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester watching Dancing at Lughnasa! 🎞️An inspiring performance that will really help them with their live theatre evaluation. 🤎Brilliant acting, staging and atmosphere throughout!

📚Our Year 11 pupils took part in our Further Education event, meeting colleges, sixth forms and apprenticeship providers. ⭐️ They learnt about the fantastic opportunities available to them after Pleckgate!

🍕To celebrate our Year 11 pupils with 100% attendance and excellent behaviour this term, we hosted a special pizza party this afternoon! 🌟A well-deserved treat for their dedication and effort.

❤️Thank you to Blackburn College for hosting a Remembrance Day event. 👮‍♀️They took part in activities led by local uniformed services including Lancashire Constabulary and the Armed Forces. 🌺Pupils and staff will join in a 2-minute silence and lay a wreath to pay respects.

🌺Our Senior Prefect were proud to pay their respects to the memories of all those who have lost their lives through conflict by attending the Remembrance Service at Blackburn Cathedral this morning.  ❤️Pupils presented a wreath at the memorial service at Corporation Park.

🌺Today, we held a minute's silence to remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. ♥️We held a Remembrance Day ceremony outside which was relayed to the whole school. #Lestweforget

🎬The BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow came to Pleckgate! ⭐️Pupils impressed host Yussef Rafik with their “thought-provoking questions” while hearing from alumni Reyhana Ismael, BBC Sport producer Nathanial Hutchinson & technician Ermal Sadiku.

🖤Our Year 8 clay skull constructions are underway! Pupils are getting creative and bringing their designs to life! 🎭Some fantastic work already taking shape!

💻 Our Year 7 pupils attended the @IN4Group Year 7 Mega Day at @BlackburnCol. 🤖Pupils took part in coding, robotics & cyber security challenges! 👏They showed fantastic teamwork & enthusiasm throughout

🤝We’ve marked Anti-Bullying Week with a series of powerful activities across school. 💛All EPT schools took part in an Anti-Bullying Workshop, followed by a whole school assembly focusing on kindness, respect & standing up for others.

🚗Our pupils were invited to the Motor Vehicle department at Blackburn College for their annual STEM Day. 🛠️Pupils took part in hands-on activities exploring the modern technologies behind low-carbon & electric vehicles. They also enjoyed a guided tour of the brand-new HEAT facility!

🎨Our pupils had an inspiring day visiting York Art Gallery and the incredible Van Gogh Immersive Exhibition! 🖼️They explored stunning artworks, stepped inside Van Gogh’s world through immersive projections, & gained a deeper appreciation for creativity & expression.

🤩Our Year 8 pupils enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the theatre today to watch Blood Brothers at The Lowry! ❤️A brilliant performance that brought the story to life, a fantastic experience for all!

🧍‍♀️Year 9 English have been on their feet this week! 🗣️Pupils have been exploring protests from the Boston Tea Party to Reclaim the Night, with pupils using persuasive techniques to present their findings back to the class. 🔥Incredible confidence & brilliant speeches!

🏆Barrister Sally Penni MBE delivered an inspiring message at our Achievement Evening, celebrating the resilience, talent and ambition of Pleckgate pupils. 🦸From future lawyers to coders, doctors and designers, she reminded us that “everyone has a superpower.”

🎳Pupils were invited to the annual SEND Bowling Event this week. 🏆A small group of our pupils had a fantastic afternoon filled with laughter, friendly competition and plenty of strikes! 💙A brilliant outing that brought joy & teamwork. Fun was definitely had by all!

🏓Well done to all the pupils attending GCSE Table Tennis each Wednesday lunchtime! 👏This week’s ladder was highly competitive, with lots of pupils showing fantastic improvement through hard work and practice.

🎭Our Year 11 GCSE English pupils went to the Bolton Octagon to watch A Christmas Carol! 📚It was a fantastic chance to see Dickens’ characters and themes brought to life on stage. ❤️Perfect inspiration ahead of their exams.

🎨We loved welcoming Year 4 & 5 pupils from Roe Lee today for an art workshop with Mrs Wilson! 🌟They learnt how to draw a funny bird using precision sketching, bold outlines, smudging and oil pastels and produced amazing work!
