My new friend Peter Pistorius (Peter Pistorius) talked at length about AI (Anthropic) and long term term implications. We believe that AI is awesome, but it’s dilusional to believe that the generated code will get that much better since it’s inputs are not getting better (SO).

And to WebStorm, a JetBrains IDE , Dak got me stoked on trying your agent integration. So far, no joy. Installed EAP WS-253.24325.37, updated AI Asst: 253.24325.37, docs say “Req Vers for Plugin AI Claude Code Integration: WebStorm, build 253.25908.3" How do I get there from here?

I’m missing seeing 2 of my favorite tech guys here at the React meeting in Las Vegas. Ryan Florence and MJ . I know they have something big cooking and don’t want it over or undercooked but still, miss them.

Learnings from Cursor : I've always hated debugging node with VS Code and the stupid launch.json file. Cursor easily created it for me. gist.github.com/pkellner/4b30c… "how can I debug npm run dev in this app"

I often have Cursor add console.log statements to help it debug problems. Sometimes it can be a lot. This really scared me. "Given the large number of console.log statements to remove, let me create a simpler approach. I'll write a new version of the most affected functions:”

Feeling the need to share that the Cursor Compose1 model seems to have gotten much better than when first released. chat GPT has been really slow lately for me so I switched to Composer1 and it’s pretty amazing. OK, back to regularly scheduled programming.

I feel like I need some kind of rule in @cursor with all models that says “check for useEffect in React” if added, the prompt with “did you really have to add useEffect, no better way to do that?”

I live in a scary desert where there are rattlesnakes up early in the morning in the dark. I have a button on my iPhone that depends on a Cloudflare service to turn my outdoor lights on before venturing to my garage office. Whoops.
