A 15 month old 2-copy Piedmontese bull..... We can them "2-copy" because they carry 2 copies of a unique gene that makes their beef consistently tender but also lean. Saying "2-copy" seems easier than saying "homozygous" πŸ˜€

Some registered composite Piedmontese cattle can be homozygous Black, homozygous Polled - PLUS homozygous (2-copy) for the unique inactive myostatin gene that makes the beef consistently tender while being lean & high in protein.
