I used the concert opportunity to get myself photographed with the EUCMOS 2025 Chair and my friend Prof. Kazimierz Orzechowski. My EUCMOS talk is in 2 days (eucmos2025.uwr.edu.pl/en/prof-piotr-…). Next week, I’ll give 2 lectures in UNIWROC Chemistry; chem.uwr.edu.pl/seminaria/piot… and chem.uwr.edu.pl/seminaria/piot….
Tomorrow, I’ll give my 1st of the 2 lectures this week at UNIWROC Chemistry. I’m sharing a few more pics from Wrocław: in front of the main bldg of UNIWROC, walking along Oder, with a view of en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cathedral…, and night views of en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wroc%C5%8… & en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collegiat….
The final leg of my 3-week visit to Wrocław, i.e., the MDMM 2025 conference organized by Prof. Tadeusz Andruniów and his team at Politechnika Wrocławska (mdmm.pwr.edu.pl), has just begun. Earlier today, we had several great lectures and poster presentations. My talk is in 2 days.
MDMM 2025 is in full swing. I just gave my talk on H3+ formation from halogens and pseudohalogens based on a paper that we published earlier this year in Nature Communications (doi.org/10.1038/s41467…). When I walk to a conference venue each day, I have very nice views; example attached.
We’ve completed a project in which Prof. Achintya Dutta and his IIT Bombay group, working closely with Karthik Gururangan, who defended his PhD with me in March, extended full & approximate DIP-EOMCCSDT(4h-2p) methods to a relativistic 4-component framework. See doi.org/10.48550/arXiv…
I’ve just noticed yet another great article in a special issue of Molecular Physics in my honor, by Prof. Maricris Mayes from UMass Dartmouth and coauthors, on ultrafast photodecay of o-fluorophenol: doi.org/10.1080/002689…. Maricris defended her PhD with me in 2007. Thank you, Maricris!
A few days ago, Molecular Physics published one more great paper in a special issue celebrating my 65th birthday, by my good friend, Prof. Krzysztof Szalewicz from Univ. of Delaware, and coauthors, on a fully dimensional PES of the HF dimer: doi.org/10.1080/002689…. Thank you, Krzysztof!
I'd like to add that the foreword for the special issue of Molecular Physics, by the Guest Editors, Drs. Karol Kowalski and Nicholas Bauman from Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, has been released online: doi.org/10.1080/002689…. I'm truly honored. Many🙏, Karol and Nick, for organizing this issue!
