Nigel Farage wants to reopen coal mines in Wales. Wales had the highest rate of respiratory death in Western Europe due, in part, to our industrial heritage. The mines also devastated our environment and there remains thousands of people living below dangerous coal tips.

Farage is full of shite, malu cachu. He can't and won't deliver on any of his so-called promises. If you don't understand that by now, then you've been utterly brainwashed by a conman. His own ego and bank balance is far more important than delivering for communities.

This is populism at its most poisonous – promise the impossible, stir the resentment, and let someone else pick up the pieces. It’s the politics of grievance, not governance. Theatre, not transformation ✍️Owen Williams 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 nation.cymru/opinion/farage…

I'm not a Labour voter, but dammed if they don't and dammed if they do re. winter fuel allowance. People were screaming, "how could they take the wfa away from pensioners!" Now they're screaming, "how can they give this money to pensioners!" 🙄

Every single Welsh council has now voted to devolve the Crown Estate to Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Labour mustn't block our calls anymore - they must act and give us the powers to keep profits from Welsh resources in Wales! 💪💚

Wales is owed £4 billion from HS2. Fact. Labour used to agree but now they’re in power, they’re happy for Wales to settle for less to keep their bosses in London happy. Plaid Cymru will keep fighting for every penny – and for full control over our rail. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

While extra funding to Wales is to be welcomed, the most important thing long-term for Cymru is that the system is reformed so we can’t be screwed over relative other UK Nations. Fair funding for Wales must be built in & automatic, not subject to a decade of pleading & haggling

“£445 million doesn’t scratch the surface” Labour once acknowledged that Wales is owed billions to address decades of chronic underinvestment in rail infrastructure. Now, they’re moving the goalposts, leaving Wales shortchanged once again.

£6.7 BILLION: What Wales should receive if treated as an equal nation by Westminster, with full rail powers like Scotland. £445 million: What Wales gets under Westminster’s farcical ‘England&Wales’ setup. Westminster does not work for Wales! #Annibyniaeth 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 #indyWales

So how angry is the First Minister at the level of rail funding given to Wales by her UK Labour bosses today? ▪️a fraction of what’s owed ▪️paid over TEN years ▪️still no mention of HS2 ▪️more £BILLIONS given to rail in England How angry? Not at all. Labour letting us down again

The more you look at it, the more the spending review looks like a bad deal for Wales in terms of rail. Over 4 years Wales gets £348 million (not even a pop share of non-HS2 rail spending). This is only £108 million (45%) more than spending on a single station in Leeds...

Rhun ap Iorwerth (@rhunapiorwerth) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It just gets worse & worse for the Labour Welsh Govt. It’s now obvious that the Chancellor’s announcement this week is a poor deal for Wales - an absolutely terrible deal on rail - but now she chucks them under a bus by saying: ‘It’s all they asked for’! bbc.com/news/articles/…

Westminster is a Con. Wales has a £85bn economy, GDP per head same as Spain, and vast natural resources - tidal, water, hydro, gas, wind, bio - we don't need the Westminster begging bowl. #indywales is better. Join YesCymru ✊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

“Wales has been screwed over by HS2 because the UK Government, for many, many years, has decided to class it as an ‘England and Wales’ project – which means, unlike Scotland and Northern Ireland, Wales loses out massively.”
