The end of an era - my microwave gave up the ghost. It sparked and made smoke while I was popping popcorn tonight. Since it was Mema's microwave first, and she died during my first year at GRACE, I'd say it had a good, long life.

One thing I've discovered (perhaps rediscovered) in the editing process is how much difference it can make to move the sentence you had at the end of a paragraph to the beginning.

I love this image! It's one of the earliest examples of photo editing. This is two pictures blended together, one of him in the empty lab and one of the working coils. The negatives were combined in the dark room.

Those are not remotely the same. Microfiche was replaced by a better, more efficient technology. Reading and writing is a basic communication skill, digital or not. You can't replace reading with something besides reading.
