Super excited for this to be out! We hope CellWalker will help people get more out of their scATAC-seq data. It should be especially useful for samples with low coverage and rare cell types.

So excited for this paper to be out! Amazing to work with Michael Alexanian. He managed to bring together an incredible team of scientists to generate a vast amount of data to answer a fundamental question. Looking forward to more collaborations in the future! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Thrilled to share that my grad work from Nowakowski_Lab characterizing the epigenomic landscape of the developing human cortex is out today in nature as a part of the #BICCN collection. Honored to have it published along with this monumental body of work! nature.com/articles/s4158…

Last chapter published yesterday in ERL IOPscience! doi.org/10.1088/1748-9…. We modeled climate change impacts to peat swamps in SE Asia by applying deep learning to🛰️soil moisture. Drier climate portends drier soils and higher fire risk 🫥

The question of what makes us human remains enigmatic, but we investigate how enhancer hijacking, or fondly, "HARjacking", may have played a role in human-specific genome evolution in our study now out in Science Magazine ! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

Finally (a year later) I had a chance wrap up this project I started as a postdoc. We show that using a cell type tree with single cell chromatin accessibility data allows us to identify a very interesting set of eQTLs that regulate genes in context and cell-type specific ways.

And now out in genome biology! genomebiology.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.11… . Additionally, if you're generally interested in using cell type hierarchies with your single-cell data, check out our in-progress work CellWalker2 which includes those and much more: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
