We asked our kids what they'll miss most about school and what they're looking forward to over the summer. Silas (8): "I like learning at school and playing games at program. I like reading during labs and I'm looking forward to swimming and having fun with my friends.

Kai- age 6 "My favorite thing about school is to color, I'm looking forward to playing Xbox this summer, and I like coming to HIKE to get out of my house"

Through health programs, we continue to get fresh foods into the hands of our seniors. Others help supplement diets where needed. We are so glad to have local farmers' markets participating and ensuring our elderly population gets the nutrition they need. bit.ly/2Umwiem

The eviction moratorium was and is one piece of the puzzle that helped many families and seniors we serve stay living in their homes. Additionally, programs like Emergency Assistance, allowed the most vulnerable to stay up to date on payments during the pandemic.

Information like this is vital to people living in low-income housing because you never know what could put you over the edge. Our Service Coordinators work tirelessly with people ensuring they have the tools they need to advocate for themselves.

We know that literacy is fundamental to having greater chances at graduating high school. That's why the HIKE program pairs dedicated volunteers, one-on-one with our kids, to share the magic of reading.

Those complicated systems include paperwork, travel to various offices, hard-to-read language, and more. It is critical that people who need help get it, but so often they face obstacles that perpetuate a system of barriers when one is reaching to get out of poverty.
