Couldn’t agree more. The (sometimes) ‘cult-like’ reverence of PhD in academic circles also drives incredibly talented people out of non-faculty uni jobs because they feel they don’t belong. A little humility goes a long way.

If you haven’t applied yet, I don’t know what you’re doing! Great opportunity with a young PI who has a track record of doing incredible work and being a nice guy as well. Can’t go wrong here!
