I had the good fortune to participate in the memorial for P22 last weekend. As many shared their stories and as I observed the crowd's reactions, I left optimistic about the future of preserving more of the natural world for generations to come.

I saw hippos surfacing while filming elephants near Lake Kariba. Our guide casually commented, "By the way, hippos also have the highest human fatality rate in Africa." I decided to paddle a little faster! 😆 To safely see a hippo, visit your local AZA-accredited zoo
