Might be the best Strike novel so far. Gripping; for about 70% of the book JK keeps you right on the edge of your seat. The plot is well constructed & the characters are quality. Mazu a good villain & Littlejohn a nice subplot #walkerbookrv #audible audible.co.uk/pd/B0C3M97JZW?…

Please don't spend the first 5 minutes of your GP appointment complaining about never getting to see a GP. We all know the issues. Telling me that you can't get to see me just eats up our precious time together.

Another in the Bryson back catalogue. A tour of Central (sort of) Europe. Lots of reminiscences of previous trip with Katz which makes it a bit disjointed. Time in Liechtenstein made me chuckle & 90s Bulgaria stark #walkerbookrv #Audible #booktwt audible.co.uk/pd/B004FTEVPW?…

Excellent from Satrapi. A window into the Iranian revolution through her own childhood, adolescence & early adulthood. Inc. short sojourn in Vienna. Dissonance between public & personal life/behaviour was particularly stark. Ta Katherine Walker for the book! #walkerbookrv #booktwt

Last January, I noticed something peculiar in my 2yo’s bedroom that - after a year of obsessive reporting - led me to a profound cosmic revelation about what’s even possible in our universe. A 🧵.

I have just finished another set of incredibly difficult weekend nights as the A&E consultant incharge. Some thoughts: The NHS no longer provides unscheduled care - we provide treatment. Care is with dignity - that's impossible for our patients in corridors. The model of

Exploration of the political/cultural landscape which led to Brexit. Goodhart posits that people are 'somewheres' or 'anywheres'. Chapters on immigration & the breakdown of the family unit were particularly interesting. One for politically motivated #walkerbookrv #booktwt

Enjoyed this. David Mitchell made me chuckle with a romp from King Arthur to Queen Elizabeth (the OG). Honest critique alongside a fair bit of hooliganesque cheering/heckling. John wins worst King imo (although Stephen runs him close) #walkerbookrv audible.co.uk/pd/B0C4PKH5RD?…

Adams writing is, as ever, witty, bombastic & funny. That said this feels like it's missing any sort of plot (apart from Arthur falling in love). The missing dolphins is a thread that is left hanging, as are the weird fish bowls! #walkerbookrv audible.co.uk/pd/B00AAZBJ50?…

Doctor May Jay My wife is a GP and if the have an acutely sick patient & call for an ambulance, they are told that they aren’t a priority as the patient is already in a place of safety. It’s like they think the surgery waiting room is a resus bay! Anyone else have this?
