As far as I can understand him, Charles Moore seems to be saying some of the right words, but they very much don’t feel like they’re in the right order

It’s long been my view that if the Rwanda deportation policy has been at times politically tricky as a concept, that’s nothing to what it will be in practice. Asylum seekers are one thing when discussed a mass. Actual people on a plane, with life stories, are another matter.

Heading back to Westminster today after a year off with this little guy.

Looking forward to catching up with everyone. Special thanks to Rishi Sunak for not calling that May election for straight after my return.

. John Crace is back at work *and* he’s done a Digested Read of Liz Truss’s book. We are doubly blessed.

If you read the full article - and I really don’t recommend it - this opening paragraph is, unbelievably, one of the less weird and creepy parts of it. It’s basically about a guy paying for sex and kidding himself that the sex worker finds him alluring. What the actual fuck.

Whatever the merits or otherwise of road charging - my guess is it’ll come before too long in most big cities - does anyone believe that Sadiq Khan is really “paying £20m in salaries” for people to examine the idea? That would be, say, 200 people on £100k a year.

New from me: everything you wanted to know about MRP polling, of which there has been a bit recently, but were afraid to ask.

tl;dr - if you're a Tory MP, yes, you probably should be worried.

William Wragg will face a lot of criticism and ridicule in the coming days, so do remember that, assuming the account of what happened is accurate, he passed others’ numbers because he feared compromising material about him being released. It’s a grim thing to go through.

Tory MPs already saying they think William Wragg should resign over his admission to Aubrey Allegretti that he was involved in the honeytrap sexting scandal by handing over colleagues' numbers

Comes after amazing Politico reporting led by Aggie Chambre that brought this to light

If it's slightly niche to go so big on a subjective survey by a brand consultancy, it's even more niche to do so when the results were released five weeks ago.
