So the AFLW couldn’t spare a minute’s silence, yet the whole country takes a day off to mourn. Serious misjudgement at footy HQ.

Harry has set a new global benchmark for hypocrisy and stupidity. He says No 1 priority is family safety, yet blurts “I killed 25 Taliban”. Give us privacy, but craves the biggest audience and $$ in media history. He appears articulate, but is dumb. Wonder who’s advising him…

We’re watching the greatest player ever in Novak Djokovic. Love Roger and Rafa, but he’s just ahead. And, frankly, a decent bloke off the court. Let’s enjoy it while he’s around.

So Monique Ryan tells of plans to be PM. After a few weeks in politics she can’t even handle a single staff member. Running a country? A close contest for week’s biggest train wreck after the super fiasco when “no plans” Sunday, Cabinet sign-off Tuesday. Taking us for fools.

Peter Blunden (@peterblunden_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Wow, how smart. Monique Ryan and Sally Rugg pick late budget Eve to “resolve” their appalling fight over “overworking”. And who pays the massive bills? We do. Taxpayers should be outraged. If you don’t object, you’re not a taxpayer.

Everything about the Hunter Valley bus tragedy is gut-wrenching. Our hearts go out to families of so many beautiful young people, who chose the responsible course of a coach trip and were tragically lost. So unspeakably sad, and unfair.

Deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of Simon Crean. A decent man, always enjoyed his company. Never fulfilled his ultimate political ambition, but stood for his ideals with energy and passion.

Unpopular view, but on reflection the two most contentious Lord’s decisions cancel each other out. Starc’s was a catch, and the Bairstow dismissal not really cricket. Rules allowed both, maybe the rules need reviewing.

Never seen a more appalling government than this inept Victorian rabble. Immeasurable damage, we will pay the price for years. And overdue to scrap useless $$$ vanity projects like the suburban rail loop (pure politics, no business case) before it is too late.

Peter Blunden (@peterblunden_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The Commonwealth Games cost blowout was chicken feed compared with other massive blowouts on virtually every Victorian government project…especially the vanity Suburban Rail Loop, already at least $75 billion over budget and without a business case. Madness, scrap it.

This tick-or-cross Voice controversy is absurd. We’re clearly being asked to write either YES or NO. It’s not hard. Anything else must be informal. You can’t say tick means yes, cross means nothing. They’re both wrong, full stop.

Double standards in politics reached another low point with the pathetic reaction by A-G Dreyfus to a perfectly legitimate question by Sky reporter on the detainees’ release fiasco. The silence of fellow Cabinet members on his arrogant, finger-jabbing rebuke reeked of hypocrisy.

Peter Blunden (@peterblunden_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If this is where our taxes go in Australia, we should be rebelling in the streets. Whatever happened that early morning, why are we paying for this? Our country is so naive. SO many cases of waste like it.

So even Carols by Candlelight, in front of our youngest children, is not exempt from this madness on the other side of the world. Who’s bringing it here, who’s accepting it, who’s going to stop it destroying our way of life? Weak, weak leaders. Let’s fix it now.

Peter Blunden (@peterblunden_) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So David Campbell says: “They’re allowed their moment”. Really? Anti-Israeli protesters hijacking Carols by Candlelight on Christmas Eve in Melbourne, Australia, live and in front of our kids? Channel 9, do you support him?
