I just heard from a young Black kid playing in the GTHL. Last game he was called a N***er.His teammate of Asian descent tried to stand up for him and was called an Asian slur. The # of times I & other members of the HDA have had these types convos is sickening. When does it end!?

Great question. The NHL has done nothing. They wanted a PR Stunt to show up the announcement of the Hockey Diversity Alliance and to pretend they care, while actually working against change. Performative action - we called it out then and it still rings true today.

Ontario Women's Hockey Association, Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Canada claim to provide a safe, inclusive environment but often fall short and revert to disturbing old ways when it comes to doing the right thing for ALL players and families. #Hockey
