The foundations of the Roman road uncovered during the #Carlisle excavations were examined in 2021. The road dated to the early 2nd Century continued to be used until the Norman period. #archaeology

The examination of the large Roman drains in 2021 during the #Carlisle Roman dig, the contents were collected and sieved producing many intaglios and other objects lost down the larines or bath plugs. The team return this month for a short excavation and visits will be possible.
