We will be operating today (Feb 16th) in western Alabama and Eastern Mississippi ahead of and during the potential severe weather threat. Follow along with teams virtually…we will be posting throughout the event. Please stay weather aware!

We are a “GO” for IOP2. Will be operating in the delta Thursday into Friday AM (2-3 March).

We are a GO for IOP3 on Friday, March 24th starting around 4PM central time. Will be operating in southeast AR, northeast LA, and western MS.

The Rolling Fork/Silver City tornado has received a preliminary EF-4 rating. We still have a great amount of information to process, and we will provide additional details on this tornado as they are finalized.

We are a GO for IOP4 in the TN Valley on Friday, 31 March. We will be operating in northern AL and southern TN.

We will be operating today (Friday, 31 March) for IOP4 within the radar coverage of our mobile radar array.

We will be operating as early as late Tuesday (4 April) and into Wednesday (5 April) in the Jonesboro, AR area for IOP5.

Congrats to Leanne Blind on a successful thesis defense looking at tornadic and non-tornadic mesovortex characteristics using Doppler on Wheels (DOW) data!

Congrats to Eddie Wolff on his successful defense using data from IOP2 2022 to examine OTs and other radar signatures to diagnose near-surface vorticity as well as examine updraft and rotation relationships.

Make sure you have several ways to get weather updates. Storms will pass through some areas overnight. Keep your cells phones charges and DON'T turn off the alerts, they can wake you up if needed. Activate your safety plan and be prepared to take cover, no matter the time of day.
