We are a GO for IOP3 on Friday, March 24th starting around 4PM central time. Will be operating in southeast AR, northeast LA, and western MS.

The Rolling Fork/Silver City tornado has received a preliminary EF-4 rating. We still have a great amount of information to process, and we will provide additional details on this tornado as they are finalized.

The field phase of PERiLS has ended. Thanks to all the participants and communities that welcomed our instruments and people 😃! Now the analysis of the data begins! We will be sharing our findings in the weeks and years to come!

Congrats to Eddie Wolff on his successful defense using data from IOP2 2022 to examine OTs and other radar signatures to diagnose near-surface vorticity as well as examine updraft and rotation relationships.

Make sure you have several ways to get weather updates. Storms will pass through some areas overnight. Keep your cells phones charges and DON'T turn off the alerts, they can wake you up if needed. Activate your safety plan and be prepared to take cover, no matter the time of day.
