Today is the beginning of LGBT+ history month in the UK 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️. I have been reading up on Haringey LGBT history. E.g. Former Haringey Leader, Bernie Grant, played an important role in opposing Section 28 as MP for Tottenham. He was the FIRST MP to voice opposition to Section 28

On this day in 1977 fascists marched down Wood Green High Road to incite race hatred. Haringey community leaders in earlier days were fierce in their defence of the community. They continue to inspire us today in the struggle for a society free from race hate.
