To make the public aware of the current recruitment & retention issues related to engineering & land surveying expertise in the Ontario Public Service, PEGO members initiated limited & measured work-to-rule strike action in October 2024. #infrastructure #highways #ONpoli

In late October 2024, PEGO-represented engineers & land surveyors withdrew services from priority projects such as the Bradford Bypass & Highway 413. Since then, PEGO members have withdrawn services on infrastructure projects across Ontario. #infrastructure #highways #ONpoli

Our members have engaged in moderate & measured strike activity which will continue till we reach a fair settlement with TBS. A part of this strike action, PEGO withdrew services from the QEW / Highway 403 interchange project. #highways #ONpoli

Update: Service withdrawal at Highway 400 Interchange at Bayfield Street project. The dedicated work of PEGO members saves the taxpayer money, protects public safety, and ensures good planning for the long-term interests of Ontarians, but we can’t do that without fair pay.

At the start of January 2025, all of MTO’s Electrical Engineers withdrew their services in support of a contract that will retain highly skilled engineers. EV Charging stations, highway lighting, support for the Gardiner Upload and other electric repair works won’t be supported

Professional Engineers & Ontario Land Surveyors from PEGO rallied near the Kingston MTO office yesterday to demand that TBS honour its 2016 commitment to address the issue of our compensation lagging behind industry colleagues in municipalities, Metrolinx & consulting firms.
