The term “legal vote” is as fictionally fraught and functionally racist as the terms “illegal alien” and “race neutral” and “welfare queen” and “handouts” and “super predator” and “crackbaby” and “personal responsibility” and “post racial.”

I'm going to say something that might be hard to hear, but I'm going to say it anyway. To those who continue to decry the thin margins in this election, you need to de-center whiteness in your analysis. Brief thread.

I feel like our ancestors are rejoicing. For the first time, a Black and South Asian woman has been elected Vice President of the United States. My sister has made history and blazed a trail for future generations to follow. We love you, Kamala Harris.

This happens way to often. I’m often asked by women how I could possibly submit to something as oppressive as the hijab. Instead of defending the hijab and how I choose to practice my religion, I simply point out something I’ve always thought to be a double standard.

Republicans are basically saying black votes are illegal, next they’ll say they’re only worth 3/5ths of a vote

Donald Trump lost. His claim of widespread voter fraud is baseless. There is zero evidence. We must all, regardless of party or candidate preference, reject Trump’s efforts to undermine the bedrock principles that have made us the oldest continuous democracy on Earth.

Life of a Black resident: torn about whether I should consult on a racist patient after looking at his chart and seeing he calls staff the N word. Is this really helpful to my learning? Is this trauma even recognized? Black residents deserve protection.
