Insulin increases LH (luteinizing hormone) & decreases FSH (follicle stimulating hormone). This is not helpful, follicles aren't told to "mature" & so when they are bombarded with the message to ovulate - they aren't ready. Too much insulin is bad. Blood sugar balance helps!

When you think about the dirty dozen and clean fifteen, think beyond the produce section. What canned foods, frozen foods, or processed foods are on the dirty dozen list? Strawberries > jam Grapes > wine and vinegars Tomatoes > tomato sauce, ketchup, salsa Apples > apple sauce

Sometimes we need to pay as much attention to what is not said as what is said. This applies to food too. It's not the tub of dark chocolate peanut butter cups you devoured. It's that you didn't get more than 6 gm of fiber today, ate one vegetable, and didn't get any fruit in.

If I could go back and tell myself something at PCOS diagnosis I would say: ~learn about blood sugar balance ~start moving your body in ways you love ~becoming a mom may be hard, but it's possible ~dump that dude your dating ~travel as much as you can prior to 2020

Eating sugar did not cause your PCOS. Eating less of it OR eating it in a more balanced manner can help improve symptoms. See the subtle difference?

In line at Disney & I hear these 30ish sisters talking negatively about their bodies. I say to them you are beautiful AND your words are powerful: your body hears them, so does my 4 year old. Insecurity & diet culture start early. Choose compassion & the words you use carefully.

I will never understand why QWERTY thought it would be a good idea to put the “?” and the “!” Next to each other in a cellphone key board. I go from curious to straight mean girl with the slightest error in clicking. You know what I mean!

You can get pregnant whether you ovulate on day 12, day 14, day 29, day 51, or 132 of your cycle. Any other day in between too.

Let's be real - no one is telling me they binged on salmon and broccoli at midnight. Nope, it's ice cream, cereal, spicy doritos, cheetos, chips and salsa.

This lab work is too expensive. Knowing these labs won't really change my recommendations for you. I don't know how to interpret these labs - so I can't order them for you. Your dietitian wants these labs, what is she going to do with them? You just need to lose weight.
