At 96, Bhimavva, the Grandmother of Gombeyaata (puppetry) from Koppala, receives the Padma Shri! Mastering Gombeyaata at 14 despite being illiterate, she has performed Ramayana and Mahabharata in 12+ countries, preserving this ancient art for 70+ years. Truly a People’s Padma.
