Here's an easy way for the Dept of Education to have an impact: Reiterate that schools’ purpose is to help every child reach their potential, not to enforce equal outcomes.

It’s frustrating that NYC democrats can’t offer moderate voters a good choice. Reminds me of the 2020 democratic primary where most of the serious candidates were very left-wing, even though that wasn’t where the voters were.

A controversial opinion I hold: people should be able to sell their kidneys. It would save thousands of lives (50k die per year due to the shortage) AND save billions of taxpayer $$$. Did you know that almost 1% of the entire US federal budget goes to treating kidney failure

I find “fair share” to be a weird handle for “tax the rich”. Progressive income taxes don’t seem “fair” to me (“fair” would be paying taxes according to public services consumed), although there is a strong utilitarian argument for them.

IMO this implausible argument (obviously AirBnB is not responsible for housing being expensive!) demonstrates that earning/deservingness intuitions support libertarian ideas - market incomes are pretty “fair” and it would be “fair” to be taxes based on public services consumed.
