Feels like patient self-serve activities have spiked -people that have administered a needle into themselves (GLP-1s, migraine, etc.) -People that have done a mini lab test at home (e.g. home covid testing) -People set up some sort of remote patient monitoring tool themselves

If you have high school teens, it's time to start teaching them how to take charge of their own health care doctorsonsocialmedia.com/passing-the-he…

Kids (& adults!) stay engaged and enjoy the process when they understand the why behind what we encourage them to do. As Malcolm Gladwell says, “Hard work is a prison sentence only if it does not have meaning.”

AI has the potential to make healthcare cool like online budgeting and investing tools did for finance. Healthcare is drastically easier to understand now across the spectrum. Very exciting for teen health.

If you prescribe, Photon Health is great as an intermediary step. The script doesn’t just go to the same pharmacy every time that’s on file. The patient can pick via a web link where they want it to go based on geo location, no matter where they are at that moment.

This episode of the Joan Ganz Cooney Center podcast with guest Dr. Talib is fantastic. @drhinatalib is one of my favorite people. She's witty, pragmatic, and all-around fantastic. I am so thankful that we crossed paths! joanganzcooneycenter.org/2023/10/10/int… #podcast #parenting

SMS-based care should be a first line of defense. Here’s a reason why: Often the treatment is no treatment. But going to a clinic, patients feel they should walk out with something (a script). SMS care allows us to feel we got checked in on, without needing that something extra.

Christina Farr knowing the next step through sms, regardless of a delivered prescription, no next step, monitoring, or an immediate in person visit is extremely powerful

Looks like adolescent social histories went viral a couple of days ago…let’s talk about them. This is no “new law”. This is standard practice, that unfortunately does not occur as often as it should. The AAP primary care guidelines recommend 1-on-1 time with a provider at 11+

While most Medicaid care innovation requires a heavy boots on the ground services component, the scale of medicaid redetermination and enrollment is so dire that software first approaches can make a substantial impact: 810k children booted off TX Medicaid bozemandailychronicle.com/ap_news/more-t…

Education technology is undergoing another major shift-- globalization. Education is coming online globally at a much greater speed due to factors like high-speed internet providers (i.e. starlink), low-cost hardware, mobile penetration & pandemic repercussion. Some of the K-12

I continue to hear stories like this for asthma and allergies. More coordination is needed (if warranted). Minors and young adults dealing with changes in care ownership are especially vulnerable.

The solution to preventing patients from missing appointments is to to blast them with MyChart messages that require two factor plus login plus an extensive pre check-in survey plus re-entering insurance plus re-entering DOB. Just text. Respond with “yes” if you’re confirmed.

Wow - some very positive news. Drug overdose deaths in the US are down 30,000 from their peak annual rate, between 2021 and 2024. This is incredible. A lot of room to go, but this is incredible.
