with Michele Buonora marginalutilite Bridget C.E. Dooling Paul Joudrey we performed a policy scan of U.S. states and their methadone take-home policies, involving a survey, a FOIA of SAMHSA, and outreach to those with lived and living experience

COVID-19 presented important window into understanding the extent to which states adopted more patient-centered methadone policies, especially after federal govt via SAMHSA enabled expanded take-home dosing in March 2020

39/50 SOTAs (state opioid treatment authorities) responded, with 37 states indicating adoption of policies that enable OTPs to expand take-home dosing; yet some states have begun to rescind such policies
