Taught my Y13s today for the first time this year and taught my Y12s for the first time ever. Totally indebted to Gina May for maintaining and nurturing their total enthusiasm for Classics while I've been off sick and for her continuing work with the Latin and Greek students 🤟🏽

Being a first-hand witness to the excavations in #Pompeii of the bathhouse has been a joy and an honour. I’ve learnt so much from the team of archaeologists and conservators unravelling, protecting and understanding this complex. New episode of ‘The New Dig’ airs tonight BBC2 9pm

1/2 Augustus worship was promoted by Tiberius and Livia who had a temple built for the new god. The “ludi palatini” were also established in his honor, they were shows in a theatre on the Palatine hill. Following emperors kept celebrating them between 21st and 24th of January.

#Classics teachers - thinking of swapping #OCR PoLR for Greek Religion next year. Anyone have experience of both? Which do students find more engaging? Which produced better results?

As a kid from Queens New York, this one hurts.Never about technique for New York rock and rollers. It was always about the sound of the subway, the stinking overflowing garbage cans, the misfits of Times Square. The Dolls did it to perfection. Safe travels David Johansen.

Trump will see how unpopular he is if he dares set foot on British soil. He embodies everything Britain hates, he’s a classless, gaudy, tasteless moron. The British love an underdog and we hate a bully. I think it’s safe to say he will become very familiar with the word cunt.

I remember teaching about the much-maligned Clodia. Serial shagger, gambler and drinker, she was accused of poisoning her husband before disappearing into the black hole of Roman history. So sad that Clodia and other scandalous Roman women no longer grace UK 6th form classrooms

Trying to insert pictures into my research without making it look as though it's been done by a 2yr old is driving me up the wall. And the less said about trying to reference them correctly the better!
