My piece in Health Service Journal about the important role of the voluntary sector in delivering short and long term plans for the NHS.

Thanks very much to colleagues at Age UK Birmingham Age UK Sandwell for an excellent day. Great to learn about dementia support, well-being, corporate partnerships and information and advice supporting so many older people.

Early start with BBC Breakfast as we deliver our Winter Fuel Petition of 650,056 people to the Government today and reveal the scale of the impact. Thank you to everyone who signed it for your support for older people.

Thanks to colleagues Age UK Somerset for an excellent day learning about Chat and Map, active befriending , dementia support and much more.

A positive step forward towards a UN Convention on the Rights of older people. These are long term campaigns, so many congratulations to our Age International colleagues for reaching this next milestone.

Pleased to be speaking this afternoon at the Westminster Forum Projects conference on the NHS 10 Year Plan as we head towards the publication in the next few months. Huge chance to improve the health of older people by placing a focus on community health and prevention.
