I know I’m not one to tweet a lot. Though I do read everyone’s and I can’t tell you how much so many of you have helped me in my own work. What a wonderful community this is #Genealogy #FamilyHistory #ThankYou

This is the Stadttemple in Vienna Austria. It’s the only synagogue to survive the war. While I didn’t get to go inside on my recent trip to Vienna, I did get to at least stand outside. My great grandparents got married at this synagogue 100 years ago this year.

While visiting Kielce, Poland to see where my grandfather, and other family members lived. I went to 7 Planty Street to visit the location of the Kielce Pogrom

July 15, 2023 marked the 100th anniversary of my great grandparents religious wedding ceremony in Vienna. Back in April, I had the opportunity to visit the Synagogue. Unfortunately not able to do the tour, but still walked the streets they did.

Yesterday (June 16) would have been my 2x aunts birthday. Fanny (Feige Taube) was born June 16, 1908 to Paje and Hersch. Fanny would live in Vienna with her husband David and their three children Mary, Silvia and Judis before being deported to Maly Trostinec on Sept 14, 1942

On this day in 1942, my family arrived at Auschwitz from Vienna. I can’t even imagine the horror that they experienced when they arrived. Or even the chaos and fear with everyone around them. Sadly their lives were cut short and perished on this day 📸 Paula’s Footsteps #Genealogy

An eleven-year-old Jewish girl lies in bed after her liberation in Bergen-Belsen. Pictured is Helena Rabbie. She was born in Amsterdam on September 8, 1933, and died in Bergen-Belsen on April 24, 1945, eleven days after the liberation.

Looking for some help 🙏. I recently found what I believe to be my 2x great grandfathers social insurance number. He lived in the USA and I am unable to find out when he passed away. If I reach out to the right department is that information I might be able to get?

On this day in 1939, my grandfather with one of his sisters said good bye to their mom, along with other family members as they left Vienna on the #kindertransport and headed to the UK. The journey would take six days before arriving in Harwich UK #Genealogy #FamilyHistory
