1/6 Hardly a day goes by without a headline involving mental health. Sometimes it’s young learners, sometimes teenagers due to social media and sometimes it is high profile celebrities.

2/6. Are these issues more prevalent now I wonder or have they always been there? If they are the same as they have always been, did we ever deal with them more successfully?

3/6 One thing that does strike me is the rise of wellness initiatives in higher education and workplaces. This is a good thing right?

4/6 It is, as long as it is not just a touchy feely box ticker. I have seen a few instances over the years when people have reached out to a wellness program, only for their voicemail or email to be ignored and not followed up.

5/6 I am lucky enough that throughout my life, I have been able to deal with whatever has been sent my way. Not everyone is so fortunate.

6/6. If you are involved with or responsible for a workplace wellness initiative, please make sure that it is fit for purpose. Have a great weekend.

Much of what has been said about locals not supporting the pub when it was open may well be true. This though, is a part of local hero that should have been protected and preserved. Let’s hope that the weight of the law eventually weighs heavily upon those responsible.

There needs to be a review of cancer treatments in the UK. Anyone who has been blighted by this spiteful disease and researched around the subject will be aware that there are a number of alternatives to conventional chemotherapy. 1.

There has not been any robust research regarding the efficacy of these alternatives and their success rates compared with conventional therapies. This could save the NHS billions and also improve outcomes for some patients. I have set up a petition. Please read.
