Science Magazine Thank you Science Magazine for giving @socsavantes the fantastic opportunity to write this week's editorial: "France needs a Chief Science Adviser" : science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… Emmanuel Macron Gabriel Attal Ministère Enseignement supérieur et Recherche

Cool! Several Oikopleura (tunicates) genomes show their genomes are highly scrambled despite being morphologically identical. This suggests the presence of previously unnoticed cryptic species. Congrats CañestroLab EvoDevoGenomeUB GeneLoss🫀Heart🌊Ocean & rest of authors!

This echoes the work of patrick_lemaire and colleagues on ascidians science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… and suggests that cells can control and buffer genomes in #development #MasterBuilder #NotIntheGenes

Just arrived in #SunnyBergen for a 2-day visit at Michael Sars Centre. Thanks you @lionlchristiaen for the invitation! Looking forward to nice discussions on marine #devbio and lovely ascidians.

I’m excited to share the programme of my new series of lectures Collège de France in Nov-Dec. I will devote next 2yrs to information flow. As usual, I speak en Français, but all slides (pdf) in English, self-explanatory, video on Youtube. Stay tuned or visit if in Paris. It’s free
