Delighted to welcome the Bradford Archaeology and Forensics from the University of Bradford today. Undercliffe Cemetery is an ideal, and pretty local, training ground for the students who were put to good use by their tutors, investigating ‘what lies beneath’ in our potential new burial area!

Coachman John Emmott, who along with his wife, Martha, is laid to rest with six of his children, five of them under the age of 14 months, the youngest being only 10 weeks old. Just one of our 23,500 plots where over 124,000 Bradfordians are buried.

Today we honour the memory of a Bradford City fire victim, laid to rest in an unmarked grave here at Undercliffe Cemetery. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our volunteers, a permanent memorial now stands in his name — John Hutton — never forgotten.
