Archaeologists uncovered a decorated and complete Grooved Ware vessel in the bottom of a pit at the Hanson UK Needingworth quarry. Dating to approximately 2900-2400 BC, the pot was probably placed into the pit whole and collapsed from the weight of soil above it.
