We created a fairly simple way to create ggplot objects from plant images. With this method, we pre-loaded a series of ggplot maps from well-known plant structures. These maps can be easily worked on a ggplot coding environment to produce nice plots.

As a reviewer, I agree with many points of this view article. The peer review process could have a better structure and reduce unnecessary work nature.com/articles/d4158…

Everybody had a blast at the 1st annual tropical root ecology workshop held by Dr. Oscar J. Valverde-Barrantes! Students from University of Miami BGSO and FIU learned methods to collect, analyze, and preserve roots to study their morphology and evolution.

Thanks to all the students who participated in the first tropical root ecology workshop. Very happy to see all these young scientists so excited about root ecology #FIU #TREELab #plantroots

The contrasting root diameter between roots of Peperomia (left) and Piper (right) family Piperaceae. Peperomias are usually epiphytes, while Pipers are often shubs. Is diameter reduction a frequent adaptation to become an epiphyte?

Two scientists say they’ve built a tool that can calculate how much damage oil and gas companies’ planet-warming pollution has caused — and how much money they could be forced to pay if they’re successfully sued. wapo.st/3GpY6GT

Protecting nature is central to economic prosperity. Along with leading UK academics, we've signed an open letter coordinated by Prof Nathalie Seddon, Oxford & Nature-based Solutions Initiative @UniofOxford, urging the Prime Minister to place nature at the centre of economic and climate policy. We want to see nature
