Juliana Scherzer’s quilt-pieced leaf works developed out of a residency Chéticamp, Nova Scotia. Informed by the park’s conservation efforts, Juliana’s experiments led to a method of encasing fallen leaves in glycerin. See this work at 'Arboreal' opening Aug 21.
Faces of Drag, 2021 (A Thread)
Designed and created by me, “Faces of Drag” is a series of 10 papier-mâché masks that celebrates the world history of drag.
Juliana Scherzer constructed this delicate piece using her signature method of preserving leaves, cutout to reveal ecoprinted wool and cotton.
