With ‘National Volunteer Week’ just passed, we would like to celebrate our volunteers' time, effort and passion. Meet Grahame one of our longest serving volunteers here at Open Support, being a volunteer driver with Country Care Link for over 22 years.

This morning we were fortunate to learn from two fantastic speakers Gemma Dargin and Daniel McDonald as as we recognise National Reconciliation Week organised by the St Vincent’s Clinic Foundation. We thank our guest speakers for sharing their histories, culture and future.

Those with lived experience of violence and abuse often experience feelings of self-doubt and guilt but are in fact incredibly resilient and resourceful. Affirmations are a good way to reframe negative thoughts.

We are pleased that the new sexual consent legislation went into effect in the last couple of days. These new rules will make a significant difference in our community's fight against sexual assault.

Thanks to Caitlin Isbel for highlighting the issues facing many migrant women experiencing DFV. Open Support works closely with CALD women, many of whom are migrants, and we are hoping to be able to provide greater support for them into the future. Donate today to help us help them.
