Starting this morning, the Court of Appeal will hear five days of live evidence as part of an appeal in R. v. Timothy Rees. Mr. Rees was convicted of second-degree murder in 1990. All appeals were exhausted. In 2023, the federal Minister of Justice accepted Mr. Rees’ 696.1
