Scientism is a disease of authority. It's a PERVERSION of science. The worst = feels like science. But while science seeks to falsify, correct errors, theorize+criticize so knowledge grows... Scientism seeks authority + certainty. Smothers knowledge in its infancy like a Herod

Jingna Zhang Tools that would allow a USER to take your work and modify it this way, given enough time and skill, have existed for a while. Pencils, pens, paper, camera, paints, Photoshop. The difference, it seems, is the time and skill requirements have changed massively.

Jingna Zhang I do think, however, artists like you will win in the long run. Your art IS better than the slop it produced. And the more slop becomes commodified, there's a world where more people know + value this. (Human-made art). Like what happened to painting:β†’:mass scale photography.

Rain. African mountain air. Black felt, black horses. Bushbuck darting across the farm, fleeing some predator we can't see, while the herons and farm animals chase towards it in its wake. An afternoon with my cheeky babe.

Sam Altman was paying Kenyans $2-$5 per hour to train the initial ChatGPT. The unintended consequence was initial AI models learning to write like Kenyans. Now, AI-content detectors can't differentiate between a work done by a Kenyan and that of an AI model.
