“Well, if I remember right... You have competition.”

“Who?”

He sighed. He remembered exactly how he felt that day, in his younger version’s shoes. He wished he could tell him everything.. But he couldn’t. He couldn’t do that to himself.

He sighed, sipping on some coffee, watching the rain fall with his good eye. He felt tired. Tired.. Tired and Weary. But he had one last thing to do. One last great act left to play. The Universe was not done with him. Not yet.

“Doesn’t it bother you?” The Old man spoke, raising a brow as he sipped his drink.

“Well, then do something about it. Speak your mind and be done with it.” He sipped the wine he had poured for himself, thankful that he was still in the Kitchen.

“The short answer, is no. I do not.” He pours more wine, leaving it to him. “Cmon. I know you better then you know yourself. You think I don’t know how hard it would be? It only gets harder, John. It won’t get any easier.”

Glares, sipping his wine. “You know the rules. No Spoilers.”

“I do, actually. And the answer remains, no.” He sets the glass down and sighs. “Please, John.”

“As long as you know, John.” He sips the wine again, leaning back against the counter.

He opens his music box, a Melancholic melody filling the air, a bottom of rum beside him as he watches the campfire crackle and flicker. He sits on a peaceful beach, breathing in the sea salt as the breeze and sea wind greets him.
