What is the difference between Independence and Republic status?

You can overhaul the constitution but to introduce a new constitution there must be have been a vacuum. Constitutional amendment, however, is a normal activity that happens if need be. The 1992 Constitution has been amended before to provide for text on citizenship.

MPs in theory are supposed to perform their role as 'delegate trustee' ie. mandate of the people in Parliament in trust, therefore it's expected of them to perform their representative function for the people. There's also partisanship theory on whipping MPs to tow a certain line

Frank Afriyie (MP, Afadzato South) & Samuel Awuku (MP, Akwapim North), both first term MPs in the Ninth Parliament, were selected by their caucuses to represent their leaders at a 2-day capacity building workshop for journalists to share their experiences in #GhParliament so far.

The first #MPStatement is a tribute to a renowned Ghanaian physician based in the UK, Prof. Felix Israel Corletey Aholor who passed on at the age of 94. The statement was made by Zuweira Mohammed Ibrahimah (MP, Salaga South) who celebrated the medical professional. #GhParliament

.Francis-Xavier Sosu (MP, Madina) has brought to the House's attention to news reportage of alleged defilement of a minor in the Madina municipality. Per his checks, the victim is 14 years & has since become pregnant. He assured #GhParliament of pursuing the matter until justice is served.
