Before you judge someone, it's good to ask yourself: what brought [insert person] to this moment on an emotional level? Better yet: just don't judge folks, at all. Unless they're likers of Marmite. Then, you would've had no other choice, & it's a completely reasonable reaction.

There is a level of political consciousness that used to be a mainstay of how South African identity used to be constructed that we are losing at an alarming rate. And yes, SM has played a big part but also the gutting of the SABC and the anti-intellectualism of the Zuma yearsโ€ฆ

The South African economy isn't what it was in the mid-2000s; life in general, isn't. We're not going to reach similar life goals to that of our parents at similar ages, to similar degrees, as it were. But, you get to redefine what happiness means to- and *for* you; that's OK.

Every editor who canceled a story about Palestine brought us here. Every boss who censored an employee. Everyone who said โ€œnot this wayโ€ to protesters. Every university admin calling the cops. Bloody. All your hands are bloody, and we will never forget.

We can't keep doing this, Mzansi. Was what Mkhwanazi did a noble, brave thing? Contextually speaking, absolutely. But, that's also what folks in service to the People are *supposed* to do. Point: can we stop going in circles of heroizing everyone who show a modicum of decency?

I've said this before, and I'll say it again: South Africa is not, by any reasonable measure, a poor country; it is poorly managed. Our socioeconomic reality is by design. reuters.com/world/africa/aโ€ฆ

Yes. Especially in a good comedy. Moments where you, as audience member would go: *How'd* they not break character in that scene? And, then it's confirmed that they *did* like 2/3 times or, just improvised? Such fun.

like you really can just mention the clear link. we need to be more discerning about disseminating ikaka in the name of righteousness. sure some people would go look it up to watch but most really wouldnโ€™t.

I rewatched the first season of 'Narcos' this weekend. So, when I got up this morning, and the cold air hit me, and I went 'puta madre!' โ€” it made me chuckle a little bit.

Obviously several things on a sociopolitical front to unpack here for Japan. But, I often wonder about Media insistence on labelling governance in some countries as "ruling". *I* don't recall the Republicans or Democrats being referred to as "ruling" when they lead governance?

I think that art education is very important. It allows you to understand that there is nothing new under the sun. โ€œYou copied meโ€ culture and the presence of disgusting lawyers in the art world is the reason we are gonna be artistically bankrupt. Please guys pick up a book;

There's nothing good that came from the Covid years. It was awful; still. But, something pleasant for an oddity like myself, is a more widely socially accepted adoption of masks. It used to piss me off when folks would just sommer recklessly cough in close proximity to others.
