Here's one of the ngons from my profile banner image: The elusive 6-gon. These are fantastically suited for things like gear valley terminators and other similar forms that end in a point. Use those deferred poles to your advantage! 💪

Feels good to hyperfocus on modeling. Got my pile of snacks, a 200 hour playlist (less repeats), a steady flow of matcha, and my wife trying her best to remind me to use the bathroom 😆

Here's a near foolproof way to nail curved profiles like the back of this grip. - Make sure you have a vert on either side of the curve - Add a vert in the middle - Move the middle vert inward so that the two "legs" line up with the start of the two slopes - Bevel!

Ngons don’t work with sub-d Ngons only work on flat surfaces Ngons don’t work for deforming meshes I'm genuinely curious where people get this bad advice. Is it from teachers? YouTubers? Crusty veteran 3D artists?

Exhibit A: How not to act towards a peer (and moreover, a senior) in the 3D Industry. Though if you want to show your ignorance, then by all means go for it.
