A 16-lot, all-BMW sale by Broad Arrow Auctions took place yesterday evening at the Villa d’Este Concorso d’Eleganza. Top-seller was a €602,500 BMW M1 to pro-car spec, formerly owned by a German record producer. There’s a second, multi-marque auction taking place today.

There a Stanguellini up for sale with Broad Arrow at Villa Erba today. Years ago I interviewed Mr Stanguellini, saw his museum and drove some of the cars. He was treated like royalty in Modena and sent me away with a suitcase full of branded goodies.

Heroes at the @vallettaconcours include Eric Simpson and Barry Pickup who came as spectators last year and liked it so much they drove 2600km from Huddersfield to Malta in four days to show the ex-Chapron ’72 Citroën DS19 Eric’s owned since 2014. They drive home next week.

And the winner of the 2025 @vallettaconcours is… this imperious 1949 Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith with bodywork by James Young and Gurney Nutting. It is the second consecutive win at the Maltese concours for Indian collector Yohan Poonawalla.

New for 2025 at the Valletta Concours was a Best in Show Maltija trophy for the finest locally owned car. It went to Mark Borg's 1968 Alfa Romeo Spider 'Osso di Seppia' by Pininfarina, which also won the best restoration prize. Full story here: octane-magazine.com/news/rolls-roy…
