What an amazing day it was at the intergenerational dialogue which brought together women from across different backgrounds, to have open and honest conversations about the successes and challenges of African women, ranging from societal expectations to cultural norms....[1]

Last week, UNFPA Ghana and its partners launched Family Planning Week 2024 and unveiled the new Ghana Family Planning Costed Implementation Plan (2024-2030). The plan seeks to empower individuals, particularly females, to make informed choices about their reproductive health.

I am happy to share that Ministry of Health, Ghana and UNFPA Ghana have launched the  Midwifery Education and Practice Centres for Excellence Programme (MEPCEP). This initiative is designed as a hub for training, research, leadership development and innovation to enhance #midwifery in #Ghana.

It was a great honour to witness the declaration to end child marriage in the Agona Nyakrom Traditional Area. This makes the 4th Traditional Area that has declared an end to child marriage in the campaign dubbed, "One Paramountcy at a time". The march continues!

On 24th October 2024, it was an honour to function as the acting UN Resident Coordinator; engaging in various activities to create awareness and celebrate the UN at 79 years. We had the flag raising ceremony, #UN Peace walk, High-Level reception, among other events.

It was a wonderful twin ceremony on Monday, 25th of November, as UNFPA Ghana celebrated the graduation of 33 remarkable leaders of Cohort V and welcomed the new batch of 35 Fellows, making Cohort VI of our Youth Leaders (YoLe) Fellowship programme. #youthleaders

We successfully launched the creative initiative “16 Routes, 16 Stations: Transport Unions Unite Against GBV". The campaign is to galvanise support against gender-based violence (GBV) from transport operators and users in Ghana. #JoinTheBusStopTheViolence

One of my memorable 2024 highlights was attending a Christmas luncheon organised by the Ghana Association of Former International Civil Servants. It was a wonderful gathering of retired staff from organisations such as the #UN, World Bank, IMF, #AU among other organisations.

This week, the #UNinGhana 🇬🇭🇺🇳, partners and key stakeholders gathered for a brief but heartfelt ceremony to bid farewell to Charles Abani, celebrating his impactful leadership and notable achievements as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Ghana from 2020 to 2025.

The new WHO Ghana Representative, Fiona Braka, has officially started her duty tour in🇬🇭after presenting her credentials to Ghana MFA. With over 20yrs of public health experience, she will lead efforts to strengthen national capacities for essential health action implementation.
