2023 Most Influential Women in Arizona, includes the Navajo Nation’s very own, Ann Marie Chischilly! She was also awarded the Community Impact Award. Ann Marie Chischilly is currently the Vice President of Native American Initiatives at Northern Arizona University. #MIW2023

As the first day of the 72nd Annual Miss Navajo Nation pageant comes to a close, I commend these remarkable young women for their efforts. Let us all celebrate the hard work these contestants showed and continue to encourage them throughout the week. Ahéhee’

This morning, my office proudly hosted a Professional Development Workshop for the 72nd Annual Miss Navajo Nation contestants. As First Lady, I am committed to encouraging our youth to pursue higher education and seize opportunities that will define and elevate their futures.

Congratulations to the newly crowned Miss Northern Navajo, Damaris Yazzie, representing the community of Teec Nos Pos, AZ, and Miss Northern Teen, Kaydence Yazzie, representing the community of Kirtland, NM.

As the temperatures drop and we gather for more indoor events, it's important to stay protected and vaccinated. Vaccines help reduce the severity of illness, keep our healthcare system from becoming overwhelmed, and most importantly, protect our vulnerable relatives. Ahéhee

Congratulations to our Navajo Champions at the 2024 Indian National Finals Rodeo! This year, seven prestigious INFR World Titles are coming home to the Navajo Nation, a testament to the dedication and pride that our Navajo contestants bring to the rodeo arena.

In addition to the Miss Indian Rodeo Pageant Traditional Presentations, the INFR held their Fashion Show presented by Bitahni Boutique providing a showcase of Native talent. Each contestant presented their traditional attire, sharing stories and significance behind their designs.

I encourage all Navajo people to vote today. Check in with your relatives and friends to make sure they have a plan to vote in our Navajo Nation, state, and national elections. Please be safe, travel carefully to the polls, and dress warmly. Let’s make our voices heard. Ahéhee’

One of the highlights was Chinle High School’s Senior Night, where the Wildcats hosted the Page Sand Devils in an exciting matchup. Adding to the evening’s significance, the Office of the President sent 600 children home with Navajo children’s books, generously provided by NDCFS.
