A storm system will affect the area Monday afternoon through Tuesday night. Heavy snow may occur Monday night through Tuesday night before tapering off on Wednesday. Accumulations of 12" to 24" will be possible. #cowx

Rain showers will increase this afternoon, especially over the Front Range and the I-25 corridor. There will be isolated thunderstorms with brief heavy rain, small hail, and wind gusts to 50 mph. There will be a mix of rain and snow above 10,000 feet. #cowx

Showers will increase tonight with the snow level lowering to 8,000 feet. Rain at lower elevations and snow in the higher mountains will continue through Tuesday night, with a sharp gradient in snowfall between 7,000 and 8,000 feet. Heavy snow will fall on the east slopes. #cowx

Rain and mountain snow develops this morning. Heaviest precipitation amounts in/near the Front Range mountains and foothills. 10-20" snow for higher Front Range Mountains, and up to 10" down to about 8,000 feet. Lighter amounts below that and west of Eisenhower Tunnel. #COwx

Rain in the Denver area & snow along I-70 west of Denver, will increase this evening as heavier precipitation edges northward. The snow level will be 6,500 to 7,000 feet with snowfall of 1 to 2 inches per hour in heavier showers. Roads will be slushy under heavier showers. #cowx
