A colleague of mine is running a survey that aims to understand people's attitudes towards contact-tracing apps. The results will help understand the factors that drive the adoption of these apps, so please fill out the survey if you have the opportunity: scsstcd.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5h…

This Fall I will TA Berkeley’s CS195: “Social Implications of Computer Technology”. I’d love to get ideas on topics to cover and pointers to existing syllabi (e.g. Mozilla’s Playbook). And if you work in this area and would like to give a guest lecture, please reach out as well!

Check out the new paper by Black Lives Matter and my colleagues at UC Berkeley that defines and evaluates an assessment methodology for conducting systematic security and privacy analyses of the backup and recovery functionality of 2FA apps (e.g., Google Authenticator).

One of my goals for the previous year was to create an open-source repository of resources devoted to teaching about the ethical implications of computer technologies. Happy to report that I launched this website a few days ago: computer-ethics.com What are your thoughts?
